PIENSA BIEN... ! / THINK WELL..!

PIENSA BIEN...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That morning I was running late. I had been delayed leaving my house and I could not find a taxi quickly. I was worried to arrive behind schedule to my meeting, since punctuality is an important value for me. Just the idea that I would arrive late already stressed me.

Seated in the taxi I was seeing with desperation as the minutes went on and we did not move! That  stressed me!

Finally we arrived at the premises where the meeting was held. When the taxi driver halted in his track, I hurried to look for my wallet in my pocket while I opened the car’s door.

I wanted to go out the car as quickly as possible so I did not arrive late. Still I had my head in the car when my cellular rang and as nervous as I was, I answered the call.

In one hand I had my wallet to pay the taxi driver and with the other one I was holding the cellular to my ear. I could not listen well to what they were saying to me on the phone because of the noise that began to resound outside… it was the horn of the car that was behind us.

I could only think: This is terrible!! , I cannot answer this call, pay the taxi driver and go to my meeting, because of all this noise that does not let think well.

How foolish is the one that is pressing the horn! , I thought… Couldn’t he see that I’m getting out of a taxi? Can’t he wait?! He is so intolerant and no considered at all! ….He must be so arrogant , I thought :When  I get out  of the taxi he is going to hear me!!.

While I was engrossed in my thoughts the phone call cut off. The taxi driver said good bye, I closed the door and the taxi drove off. Then, standing on the pathway I directed a glance of misfortune and indignation to the driver who was pressing the horn to me, hoping to see his face.

To my surprise, the driver who pressed the horn was glad that I looked at him…. , it is more, he began to shake his hand pointing  to  the floor , while he kept smiling.

I was completely surprised by this unexpected attitude. ... I looked down with certain distrust… and I saw, with astonishment, MY WALLET!! There on the road.

I gathered it quickly and I rose to thank the driver of the car, but I only could   see, in the distant, his smiling face while the car moved away quickly.

While I entered the premises, I remembered an old saying: “THINK BAD and YOU WILL GUESS RIGHT. “
And I decided to change it to this other version: “THINK WELL and YOU WILL BE HAPPIER “
